SALAMANCA 2007

PAINTING AND SCULPTURE EXHIBITION

Neither the Palacio Arzobispo Fonseca, nor the city of Salamanca itself are unknown places for the painter Jiménez Carrero. If already in 1997 he surprised with a magnificent exhibition inside the palace chapel, 10 years later he would return to surpass himself and confess that he is still dreaming.

On this occasion, 8 tents located in the cloister of the Palacio Arzobispo Fonseca would house Carrero’s work, forming a unique exhibition space that respected the beauty and uniqueness of the wonderful cloister.

Inside the tents, the author’s latest works were exhibited, among which the series of ‘red’ paintings, located in a room designed specifically for them, stands out. A real delight for the eyes that could be enjoyed with the attention and intimacy that J. Carrero’s work requires.

The rest of the exhibition space consisted of large areas where the paintings could be observed with a greater perspective without losing the essence of the painter’s works.

Outside the tents and under the shelter of the cloister arcades, bronze sculptures were exhibited.
